Water-Quality Stations in Colorado

Study Area: Statewide
Period of Project: Ongoing
Project Number: CO003
Project Chief: co.data
Cooperator: Multiple

BACKGROUND:

Water-resource planning and water-quality assessment require a nationwide base level of relatively standardized information. For realistic planning and assessment of water resources, the chemical and physical quality of surface water and ground water must be defined and monitored.

OBJECTIVES:

This project provides water-quality data for Federal, State, and local planning and action programs. It also provides data for management of interstate and international waters. A network of water-quality stations is operated to provide information on physical, chemical, and biological properties of surface and ground water.
