Ecological Synoptic Study

Map and Data for This Study
  • Objective:
      To describe the spatial distribution of invertebrates and algae at sites in the western Great Plains region beginning at the mountain/plains transition zone to the lower part of the South Platte River.
  • Approach and Physical, Chemical, and Biological Data:
      17 sites were sampled for invertebrates and algae, and habitat Level 1 characteristics were measured. A water sample was collected at each site and analyzed for nutrients.
  • Timing:
      August to September 1993.
