Urban Land-Use Study: Arkansas River alluvium - Wichita, Kansas metropolitan area
Objective:
Determine the occurrence and
distribution of water-quality constituents in recently recharged ground
water associated with recent (less than 20 years) commercial and
residential development.
Approach:
Randomly locate and drill 30
wells in the Wichita, KS metropolitan area
(see map).
Sample each well once.
Timing:
Drilling begins March, 2000; sampling in July 2000.
Targeted Constituents:
Physical parameters, major ions, nutrients,
trace elements, pesticides, Volatile Organic Compounds (VOC's), and CFC's.
