Public Water-Supply Sampling - central High Plains
Objectives:
To compare
source-water quality from domestic wells in the central High
Plains aquifer and the source-water quality in nearby public-supply
wells.
Approach:
Collect
concurrent samples from 15 public-supply wells in close proximity
(less than 5 miles) to domestic wells being sampled to represent
broad-scale water quality of the High Plains aquifer
(see map).
Use
identical sampling procedures and analytical methods for all
collection and analyses.
Statistically
compare water-quality data for paired domestic and public-supply
wells.
Timing:
April through September 1999
Targeted Constituents:
Physical parameters, major ions, nutrients,
trace elements, radon, pesticides, VOC's,
DOC, and tritium.
