Denver Federal Center

The Denver Federal Center is approximately 4 miles west of Denver, southwest of the intersection of U.S. Highway 6 and Kipling Street. The DFC lies at the foot of the Rocky Mountains and is within an hour's drive of the Continental Divide. About 6,500 employees are located at the DFC of which approximately 1,200 work for the U.S. Geological Survey. Visitors must enter through Gate 1 or Gate 4.

Building 53

Building 53 at the Denver Federal Center is a secured building. The parking lot is located on the west side of Building 53 on 7th Street; all visitors must enter the building through Entrance W-4. You will be asked for a government ID when entering the building. You are expected to wear your ID (must be visible at all times) while in Building 53. If you do not have a government ID, you will need to show a picture ID to the guard who will issue you a visitor's badge. The Colorado Water Science Center is located on the second floor of Building 53.
